1) FRIEND! That’s ME in a popular Viking winter hat. C’mon, of course I’m a friend of me.
2)
FRIEND!
This is my good pal Joi that picked me up on the side of the road when
it was dumping down rain. He gave me a
ride 300km back to Reykjavik and taught me so much about the Icelandic
culture! I can’t say enough nice things
about Joi.
3)
FRIEND!
Shai was the guy I explored the south coast with. He was a good travel partner and we have
plans to reunite when I visit Israel in a couple months.
4)
FOE! This
is the creepy guy from the Reykjavik airport that asked me to watch his bag and
seemed to have a lot of holes in his life story. I wouldn’t trust this guy with my toothbrush
so I reported him to security.
5)
FOE! This
is airport security waking up a backpacker at 3:00am. As you can see one of the guys is poking him
and the second guy is coming over to question me on why I was taking
pictures. Hahaha. He didn’t appreciate how humorous I found the
situation. They did a better job at
waking up innocent backpackers than actually apprehending creeps. They didn’t do much of a job in tracking down
the creep found above.
6)
FRIENDS! I met had a blast with backpackers Jamie from
New Zealand and Jorge from Espana at the geothermic swimming pools. The guy on the end, Oscar, is the brother of
the girl they were couchsurfing with. We
were all very relaxed after 4 hours in the pools.
7)
FRIENDS! These are the first guys that picked me up
when I was hitchhiking. They were better
at driving than keeping their eyes open for the camera!
8)
FRIENDS! These are the
Icelandic locals that I went whitewater rafting with. Steini and Andri are hoisting up Sven
following a very cold day on the water.
Andri is wearing a typical Icelandic wool sweater because even big guys
can get chilly.
9)
FOE! This was the REALLY annoying
American I met on the bus from the airport into town. He insisted on telling me about every country
he ever visited and I contemplated suicide.
10)
FRIEND! This was the really cool American I met on
the bus from the airport into town. I
was filled with self-doubt and had some tears welling in my eyes when this guy
struck up conversation. Five minutes
later, I was feeling better about the adventure to come.
11)
FRIENDS! These are the two Canadian hitchhikers, Heather and Zack, that we
picked up and drove to Vik. Here they
can be seen skimming rocks at the glaciers in pretty much only clothes they
brought with them on the trip. We were
glad to have picked them up- the more, the merrier!
I think your Friend or Foes are getting tougher. Are you purposely throwing more candid pics of friends in to make us think they are foes?
